CREATIVE SPOTLIGHT: Roger Taylor

It takes a lot of talented people working in collaboration to make a film like STAND, and this week we're spotlighting the work of Roger Taylor and his numerous contributions to the expanding 'Verse through ship design.  If you've ever explored the fan base of ships made for the Verse (and for the gaming communities that love Firefly), then you've come across Roger's work.

Roger has agreed to let the team at STAND expound upon a few of his ship designs for the project.  He's given us unfettered access to some of our personal favorites from his collection and we've started with the Quail.

The Quail was created during one of the many 'ship challenges' issued to gaming fans several years back, and it instantly became a favorite, not because it's a sleek, dependable little ship, but because it isn't.  It's a 'What a piece of junk!' kind of ship that people can't seem to help loving, so it was our very first pick for fan additions to STAND.

We'll post more about the Quail as Andrew reveals his new digital designs based on Roger's work, but you can find the writeup for the Quail (along with other designs under the name 'selek') in the Cortex Shipyards volumes 1 through 3.  Look for them online.
